  • Strangely, this is the second prisoner escape from Laurel Hospital. Another guy overpowered a state police about 1 1/2 months ago. That guy fled on foot and was caught less than a mile away from the hospital. That escape happened in the middle of the night so there probably wasn’t anyone to car jack then.

This guy seems a little more committed to escaping. But stealing a DC gov’t vehicle? Stupid.

  • they caught him

  • CNN is reporting the cops shot and killed him.

  • From NBC4 website.

“Poke was apprehended at Cedar Hill Cemetery in the 4100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in Suitland, authorities said. Police said a tip led them to the location where Poke and the woman were found inside the D.C. government vehicle.

Police said Poke made it clear to police that he would not be taken into custody alive. Authorities said Poke got out of the vehicle, brandished a handgun and fired at them. Officers returned fire, striking Poke.

Poke was transported to Prince George’s Hospital Center, was pronounced dead”
