Thanks to a reader for sending in this awesome photo. This is a row of cement trucks on the 800 block of Taylor on their way to laying the foundation for the Yes! Organic Market.

  • Great photo! Also, check out the Reed-Cooke nabe where the new Harris Teeter is going. It’s a former bowling alley.

  • I drove around the 8th and Taylor block and couldn’t find the area you are mentioning. The playground and the rec center are there, but where is the Yes store going to be? I did stumble on the 9th Street, between Taylor and Varnum, strange condos carved into former rowhouses.

  • There’s a Yes! planned for Union Row at 14th and V, NW, but I am not aware of any Yes! planning for Petworth, although Elwood Thompson’s is (or was) considering a move to Columbia Heights (!-Organic.html).

If U want Organic, I suggest petitioning ET’s for Col. Heights.

    If I’m worng, please correct.

  • Yes Organic is going into the ground floor of the Neighborhood Development Corporation project that is under construction at the corner of Georgia Ave and Taylor.

  • Yes! Organic Market is going to the Union Row Flats on 14th Street AND to 4100 Georgia Avenue.

  • Does anyone know when the new Harris Teeter on Kalorama is going to open?

  • Another option (that you can access right now!) for organic are the several farmer’s market locations throughout the city! And most of their stuff is local too! Saturday mornings in Adams Morgan 18th and Columbia Rd has a few stands with local and/or organic.

  • This is great!! I love Yes!! Organic Market. It’s great to finally see some businesses coming in that will have a positive impact on the neighborhood.
