An Update on P.o.P. Renovations

First off, thanks to all for your kind words. Well, there are a lot of exciting happenings coming around the corner. I have finally identified a Digital Camera to purchase. Secondly, thanks to Emily for helping me with the P.o.P. t-shirts which I should get my first look at tomorrow. And finally I am happy to announce that P.o.P. will be moving to in mid September with a new sleek look and features. To celebrate this occasion I will be having a launch in mid September at Temperance Hall to celebrate and of course you are all invited. Stay tuned for more details.

  • Wow, sounds like a top-to-bottom renovation. Looking forward to the new layout and camera pictures. You can’t go wrong with a good Canon Digicam… I use a Canon A640. Keep us posted on the launch party!

  • PoP, sounds great! By the way, can I ask you how did you come up with the name of the site? I.e. where does the Prince originate from? Is there a story attached to it? 🙂

ps. And keep your head and spirits up, I know you are going through tough times in your personal life.

  • Temperance Hall? Never heard of the place.

Keep up the good work, PoP!

  • congrats. I love your site. I think renovations are fun–home or virtual.

  • hi, just a little not on the camera. my mom has it and while the camera is good and makes pretty good shots, the one things that is really annoying is the battery. those things eat batteries. i would honestly think about getting a camera that comes with a rechargeable battery.

    looking forward to temperance

  • Congrats on all the renovations! I agree with Carsten, rechargeable batteries are the best. I bought my brother the older version of the camera you’re looking at, and I have the Canon Digital Elph. The Elph is smaller, has rechargeable batteries, and ROCKS! Just my two cents.
Look forward to the launch party.

  • lithium batteries work well.

  • wow… comment moderation? The first ammendment is out the window at

I say, if you don’t want jackasses making fun of your personal business – don’t blog it. And do you really have time to “moderate” every comment? good luck with that.

  • Fair enough kb. But I’m not moderating because I’m being made fun of. I’m moderating because this person is leaving comments under my name so that it looks like I am leaving the comments. That is unacceptable. Fortunately all this will be moot when the site moves to the dot com.

  • btw… where’s my tshirt?

  • pop: i think there is an option for you to insist on people being verified without moderating on the Blogger control panel dumahitchy.

  • Hey PoP,

Does Scott know about your proposed shindig? Meeting your base might be a little O.O.C.

Oh, I wish for those long-time-gone happy days at Arnold’s when the juke box played my favorites at the thrust of the hips — Aaaeeee.

  • I just stumbled on your blog – I forget from where – but it really blew me away. I just wanted to say that. You truly are the Prince of Petworth.

I have a lot of family in Petworth – my uncle is a mechanic on Georgia Avenue and my aunt is trying to open a restaurant on top of it, or at least she’s been trying to for the past few years – so it’s a neighborhood I’ve been to, though I don’t know nearly enough about it.

    Thanks and take care,
    Dan Reed

  • Thanks for all the great advice and kind words. As for the origination of the name you’ll have to wait for the launch party…
